We started practicing EC (elimination communication) with our daughter at 8 weeks. It is a slow and interesting process. As a parent it is important to know how important it is not to stress out your baby while you learn their cues. You are training baby to understand that you want to communicate with them.
Babies wiggle and squiggle and coo telling us something is about happen. When you put their little bottom on the potty they relax and relieve. It's amazing and when you praise them they smile. It's the best smile in the world. They are relieved and happy to be understood.
There are some excellent resources available online to help parents understand how to start and follow elimination communication with their child. Diaper-free baby is a good resource, it is a blog that allows parent to meet other ec'ing parents and ask questions on anything.
