Magnesium and Autism

Global Light has recently participated in a local event to raise awareness of autism. Magnesium deficiency seems to be a given in scientific circles when testing children wth autism. We know that some of our members have been touched by this condition and are including some brief information regarding our transdermal magnesium products.

A genuine disaster in autism is unfolding at a rate that is now affecting one child in approximately 166. However, if all children with severe learning disabilities are counted, the ratio skyrockets to one in six.

There are over 200 published clinical studies that document the need for magnesium and many examples of miraculous "cures" from the use of this common mineral. Yet you'd wonder if anyone is reading them. As one example, doctors for the advocacy group, Defeat Autism Now (DAN) underestimate autistic children's needs; recommending only 50 milligrams twice a day in oral form, even though children with gastrointestinal problems can absorb only small percentages through their intestines.

The entire autism community needs to be acutely aware that its present dependency on oral magnesium supplementation contributes to the less than effective results from chelation. A simple changeover to transdermal and topical magnesium supplementation approaches would yield far more effective results.

The autism community has been told by Dr. Andrew Hall Cutler that "mineral transport" defects are the biggest problem with heavy metal toxicity. The discovery that an important mineral like magnesium can be supplied through the transdermal route is significant for the autism community and everyone else. The last thing any parent or doctor treating autistic children want to do is to spend any more time using a magnesium supplementation modality that has shown itself to be ineffective.

Before MMS, Global Light was best known for our high-quality, energetically-charged transdermal Magnesium products. These products still remain the highest quality and extremely popular for the safest magnesium supplementation, as well as muscle relaxation, pain management and myriad other uses.

Our Magnesium Oil is actually condensed seawater from the Pacific Ocean. Pure enough to ingest, it is very effective for transdermal magnesium supplementation.

Methods of use are topical application (optionally with wet heat), foot baths and full bath soaks. All these applications allow the skin to absorb the mineral and go to the area of the body where it is needed, bypassing the intestinal tract, which is where oral supplements sometimes cause problems such as diarrhea.

With transdermal applications, there is no need for concern of getting too much magnesium.

Not only does a full bath soak precipitate mineral absorption, it is calming and relaxing, even for hyperactive children.

Directions for Use

Put one ounce or more in the bath tub or foot bath and soak. Bathe at least three times weekly for a minimum of twenty minutes.

For topical application you can rub Magnesium Oil onto your torso or the bottoms of your feet. We recommend daily application for best results. To ease soreness and achiness, rub Oil onto area and apply a hot, wet towel compress. Repeat this process 2-3 times. If upon topical application your skin stings, dilute with pure water. Eventually you shouldn't need to do so.

If you have hyperactive children, they will love a bath soak with some Miracle II Soap (for the bubbles and detox) along with a bit of Magnesium Oil (for calming, relaxation and magnesium abosrption . . . a winning combination! (Great for all children and adults too.)
